Fortinet (NASDAQ: FTNT), a global cybersecurity leader, announced an agreement to acquire Lacework, a data-driven cloud security company. Lacework’s AI-powered platform offers advanced cloud-native application protection, integrating crucial CNAPP services, patented AI and machine learning technology, and robust code security.
Fortinet plans to integrate Lacework’s solutions into its Security Fabric platform, creating one of the most comprehensive AI-driven cloud security platforms from a single vendor. This acquisition will enhance Fortinet's capabilities in secure networking, AI-driven security operations, and Unified SASE.
Ken Xie, Fortinet’s CEO, stated that the integration will offer customers a more comprehensive solution and reinforce Fortinet’s commitment to consistent security across on-premises and cloud environments. Lacework’s CEO, Jay Parikh, highlighted the synergy between the companies in addressing end-to-end security challenges.
The acquisition, expected to close in the second half of 2024, aligns with Fortinet’s growth strategy and promises a seamless transition for Lacework’s customers, enhancing their access to Fortinet’s global resources and threat intelligence.
